I've been reading the forums and site over the past month or so and finally decided to take the plunge and try building my own computer. I'm a light gamer (mostly WoW, but would like to have the option to play something in the future) who doesn't need to play games at max details.

Here's what I've come up with so far:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 - $44.99 - $10MIR

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E4300 - Retail $114.50

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $99.99

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ - Retail $84.99

SAPPHIRE 100176L Radeon X1950PRO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail $145.99 -20MIR

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250820AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $66.99

LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black SATA Model LH-20A1S OEM BK - OEM $32.99

Antec NeoHE 500W Power Supply -$79.99 -$40 MIR

Hanns·G JW-199DP B Black 19" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail -$169.99

Microsoft Windows Vista 32-Bit Home Premium for System Builders Single Pack DVD - OEM -$111.99

Total: $991.41 ($921.41 after rebates)

Any suggestions or problems? I wouldn't mind spending another ~$100 if there's an easy/useful upgrade I could make. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, for $10 it's probably worth it to get a bigger HD. I haven't filled up my current 80gig HD, but I'm sure when my wife and I use the same computer the extra room will come in handy.

If your not going to partition you hdd to store your data on the second partition, Partition Magic is a good program for this in that it let's you easily change the size of partitions, I'd get a second smaller hdd for the OS and programs and use the 350 for storage. You can get a Seagate SATA 3.0 for about $45 at newegg. When you need to do a clean install Windows, and someday you will, you won't have to worry about loosing your data
