I do have router d-link dir-615 type. Currently I am trying to connect from work to home using remote access. I configured my router for port forwarding and my desktop for remote access. but still I am not able to access my desktop(winxp professional) remotely. Do you think that my isp blocking it or need more configuration.

thanks

More configuration.

Are you using two XP Pro machines as you can only go "XP Pro to XP Pro" or "XP Pro to XP Home". If you're trying to access from a machine with Home installed, it wont ever connect.

You also need a static IP address for the machine you want to access.
My IP at home is always 192.168.1.103 so I forwarded the Remote Desktop ports to go through to that IP via my router config.

You can also only connect to a user with a password.
If you don't have a password on your accont, you need to go to control panel > user settings and create a password.

Hope this helps.
