I asked the dang thing to shut down. It has been "logging off" for the last 48 hours. If I press the power button and let it sit for a few minutes, and then press it again, the computer comes back on, but to the "logging off" screen! What can I do? I have tried letting the battery run out, then plugging it back in and turning it on, but it turns back on to "logging off"! HELP!

Could be anything. Turn on verbose mode to see what it's doing at the stuck screen:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2. Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Double-click the new key that is created, type verbosestatus in the Value Name box, and then type 1 in the Data value box.
