Hey guys,

I just bought some PC parts and havent really been keeping up on all the technological advances and such. I put together my PC and installed Windows XP. I havent updated a lot of stuff yet but was just wondering what I should do about my problem.

My memory that I got says the timing is 5-5-5-15 but in the BIOS of my ASUS M2V Motherboard it reads my memory as having timings like 5-6-6-16 or something... should I update the motherboard bios for it to read correctly or something like that - or should I manually adjust the timings so it is 5-5-5-15?

I normally like things to run at its default settings and read it on its own without me tweaking with it.

I also noticed somewhere in the bios settings it reads something like 400 Mhz... i assume this is normal? since its DDR it doubles it etc etc... i see another listing in the bios and says the clock is 800 mhz.. anyway im just rambling now. =) thanks for any help.

Updating the BIOS will not set the timings to the mfg. specs of 5-5-5-15. You can manually set the timings to 5-5-5-15.

Download CPUZ to check your RAM timings and RAM speed.
