Windows recording problem

I have been recording with no problems at all. But now when I record with any program (audiacity, or the windows sound recorder) on playback after about 4 seconds theres an unwanted wave type effect. I can check the disable all effects box and it goes away, but I need to use the noise cancellation. Iv tryed just checkin one at a time but it dosent work unless I check the disable all effects box.
