I've been keeping my volume on low but today I tried to increase my volume only to realize the icon isn't there anymore. I've gone in and tried to click on notification and click volume but it's gray...any suggestions...on getting my icon back. Again, I'm using Vista.... ;(

Right click the task bar and select properties.

With the task bar tab selected click on customize.

In this screen you can select how and when the task bar icons are displayed.
