i just bought a dell from a friend of mine and it has xp media installed,i need to fix installation or install a quick upgrade,i have the product key but no disk,can i use xp home edition with the xp media product key to fix or install a quick upgrade

The xp media key won't work w/ xp home.

i never used xp media before i try to go to windows updates and it goes to the google homepage, try to go to some sites and i get a message oopscant find page or connection,and when i try to download programs some will download others will start and then stopand come up with a message or error

^ That sounds like more of a network connection problem than an OS issue.
