Your usb mass storage device can perform faster if it is plugged into a high speed port.
can someone explain this to me plz. the window just popped up.
You plugged a USB2.0 flash drive into a USB1.1 port. It's the last thing you want to do if you want decent performance. USB 2.0 can theoretically reach a throughput of 60MB/s, although you normally won't see more than 30MB/s even with a good flash drive. USB 1.1 is theoretically limited to 1.5MB/s, but you'll often get less.

this is strange because i dont have any type of devices plugged into a usb port. i have just installed vista 64 bit os yesterday. after reading your post, i am wondering if the usb need to be updated. theres no indication in the the device manager that theres a problem.
none what so ever. that screen just popped up. its no big deal. i`m not to savy with hardware and thought it might had something to do with the hard drive. if that was the case i wanted to get the best speed possible.
What you can do is update the drivers for the motherboard, especially the chipset drivers. That might correct what wrong info the OS is receiving from the board.
