What do u suggest i do? I dont wana obviously have to get a new PSU but then again i dont wana use it if its gona melt my mobo..

As with the increase of a 6800XT how much more of a strain would the 7600GT be or at a limit of 7950GT AGP

Am right in thinking that ATI are much more power hungry than the Nvid counterparts?

Depends on the card. A GeForce 8800 GTS requires 26A on the 12V rails, but my current Radeon X1900XT needs 30A...it's easy to tell which is the faster card though, lol.

An X1950 Pro would be a decent AGP upgrade...although I don't see why you're sticking with AGP, except that that's what your motherboard supports. I'd almost say bite the bullet and either upgrade to PCIe so you can use better cards, or stick with what you have until you can afford to move to a completely new system.

Xpro 460w

Am about to upgrade the gfx card but wondering what my psu will stop at. As the card is agp i dont wana replace the psu aswell as then it wouldnt be worth the upgrade.

I was thinking a graphics card of around X1950 or 7800

Thanks

The main question is whether that PSU is actually capable of what it claims. You might seek reviews that aim to test that.

If it is capable, try-it-and-see.
If it is then still a problem, replace it.

nope. board is AGP only :( so this was going to be my last upgrade before i save up the money for a new rig, hopefully it will be by the time ddr3, dx10 n vista are all perfect :D

That was the reason i didnt wana get a PSU aswell because i wanted just one more purchase before i could just leave it for a year and play CSS
