I'm having a problem playing games on my XP Pro system and I finally saw a error box with a d3d file error come up, and I know this is a DX file, so I tried repairing XP install with the disk, didn't do any good, I am thinking that it is part of the DX files, I ran the DX Diag and when it went full screen, I saw the bouncing white box but then everything locked up for about 15 seconds and then it all came back OK, it ran all the tests but it took FOREVER, so any ideas on how to fix/repair it with out reloading the OS
