This issue I have had for 2 other motherboards, and only in Vista, the problem does not occure in any other OS. On my other machines it was only the keyboard, and I would have to unplug and plug it back in. Now on this new board I have had the keyboard and mouse stop responding, and unoplugging plugging them back in does not work. I can plug USB drives etc into the same port, they register no problem, but the USB keyboard and mouse seems flakey, yet I plug it into a differnt port its ok.

The chipset drivers are the latest, so I don't see what the problem is, I did unplug and plug a differnt keyboard and mouse in, it did not even turn on, but fine with other USB devices. I was able to make a mouse and keyboard work on the front ports, at first i thought maybe this is hardware, but the USB drives worked just fine on them.

This problem started after my Nvida driver stopped and recovered, but I don't think it has anything to do with it.

Keyboard: Microsoft Comfer keyboard v1.0
Mouse: Microsoft Wheel Mouse optical USB /PS2 compatable.

DX58SO Mobo (bios version 4196)
i7 processor
6 GB of Kingston memory
Using the crappy on board Realtek audio
650 GB Hitachi hard drive

850 WATT PC power and cooling PSU (note, I had a PSU that supposedly had some issues when the problem started)

I really wish I could get XP to run on this board, even if I lose almost half the ram due ot it being 32 bit. Just so sick of this ***.
