I know less than nothing about PDAs. Here's my application.
After shooting digital photos on location, I now transfer images to a
laptop, edit them (usually merely cropping) and then send them to a
color inkjet. This all takes place in a car. Laptop and printer are
powered via an inverter that outputs 500w AC. Can a PDA replace the
laptop and perform its functions? If so, what models would you
suggest? (The PDA need not perform any other tasks, so cheaper is
better.)

You need a portable printer capable to do InfraRed.
Next, your PDA must have some sort of printing program such as
"PrintBoy" (PalmOS software).
