As of late, I have been trying to fix an issue with my Logitech G7 mouse. Setpoint 2.72 was not installing. I tried I measure I read on the forums that told me to simply change the port the mouse was plugged into. After that, my mouse stopped working entirely, until I installed some windows default drivers to get the basic functionality back to my Logitech G7 mouse... Even after getting my functions back, the new hardware wizard would continue to pop up, and pop up until I canceled it two or three times.
Every restart, I go through the same routine. My startup programs load up, and I have to click "cancel" on this new hardware window. Setpoint 2.72 still will not install, and my System Restore refuses to work at all. (When I go to restore my computer to an earlier date, the program just does nothing. I click "Next" to no avail.)
Any and all insight on this infuriating matter will be greatly appreciated.
PS: I recently upgraded my GPU (way after this thing started) and I noticed something new, the New Hardware Wizard prompting me that it found a "PCI" device as well. My GPU plays and functions just fine; but I thought I'd throw that bit of info in there to help diagnose this problem.
I'd like to avoid a fresh installation of windows XP until I get my hands on Windows 7 (and obtain a 300GB Velociraptor).
Edit: Also, I'm apparently missing a file called wdf01000.sys, according to logitech customer service, that I need for setpoint to work. Is this tied to the other problems I am having?
