I have a new machine I built last fall. Core 2, 10K RPM drives, nice SB card and an ATI X1800 video card. I run 64-bit operating systems only as I see no point in running 32-bit when I don't have to. Everything works well. I have Vista 64-bit Ultimate up and running now and am enjoying it apart from the frequent crashes which occur during movie watching. My problem is this: whether with 64-bit WinXP Pro or Vista, every single game I own has this problem where 3D objects on screen have a giant pole sticking out of them. This makes games unplayable. Company of Heroes, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth II, NWN2 and others all have this problem. I've the latest Catalyst drivers and I've tried running with everything turned down to lowest level, but still no luck.
Any thoughts on the big flag poles and what causes them? I use the same monitor for my Xbox 360 and everything looks great.
TIA,
Ian
