Do all cases and motherboards have the same standard holes?

So I'm planning on building a computer soon and i was thinking of salvaging the case of a computer that i have in my basement. The case is a mid tower and I'm pretty sure the motherboard inside it is a micro atx motherboard. (its an e-machines case btw.) So now, say if i was to buy a micro atx motherboard. Will it align to fit the holes in the case or do i need to get a more up-to-date case or something?

No need to worry, any micro atx motherboard will fit in your case OK, I have had to change many in the past and have had no problems.
