I have 1 GB RAM and 32-bit Vista installed on my system. Vista keeps on freezing off and on, and the different windows give "not responding" message. I also think that my PC takes more time to boot up with Vista. Why is it so?
Is Windows-Xp better than Vista or what?

Solution
SP2 and updated OS along with latest system, video, MB/chipset drivers, etc. pretty much eliminates 'freezing off and on' situations with Vista. Recommend at least 2 GB RAM with Vista's Superfetch management of system memory.
