Is there any API's aside from OpenGL that is supported by Linux and Nvidia ? ie some Linux version of D3D or DirectX support ?

Not...exactly. WINE (stands for WINE Is Not an Emulator) is able to emulate DirectX stuff with some degree of success when you're running Windows apps from WINE.

FWIW, a company called TransGaming has been planning to write a cross-compatibility layer to enable Windows DirectX apps to run efficiently under Linux.

Not all games support OpenGL well, and some may not at all.
Everything lately seems geared to D3D first and OpenGl as a "only if you have to" kind of thing. Also, It would just be good to have other choises.
