first of welcome :P

now ot the question. I dont think putting a 7600 in sli will be worth it. The 7950 would in my view quite easily beat it.

howevererere, iv hard the drivers for the 7950 werent very good. atleast they wernt back then, dunno about now.

why 7950??? cant you just get a 7900GTX/1950 XT or go the 8800 route??

didn't know the 7950 had driver problems , txs 4 input . i could go with 1
evga 8600gts but then a wait of many months to sli it ! hadn't thought of the 7900 . go idea maybe :)
i was hoping that by using sli on 2 7600/512 cards it would double the core & memory speed to 1600 . guess it don't work that way .
#1 problem . staying in a tight budget :(
guess that 1 ,8600gts would out do 2 7600gs 512's in sli . right ???

general rule for sli: dont sli

you are way better off with one, more powerful gfx card than two underpowered ones. also, dont get an 8600gts, or anything lower than an 8800gts in the 8 series. they are a HUGE downgrade from 8800 performance.

in your situation, i'd get the 7950gt, and blade, hes talking about the gt, not gx2. i have a 7950gt currently, and its a great card.

all in all, dont sli (unless you have two of the top series cards like 2x8800gtx), better off with one strong card than two weak cards

hope this helps, and welcome

If you're planning to SLI two low-end cards, you're wasting you time, money, and nerves.

If you're going to SLI, make sure you get two top-end cards, and have a huge monitor with a very high resolution, of 1600x1200 or more (at least).

A general rule when buying a graphic card:

Buy the best single card you can afford. Simple as that.

I generally follow one simple rule:

never sli or crossfire a medium/lower end card. its just not worth the money being spent on two cards. Your better off paying that little bit extra and getting a single higher performing card which will outperform your lower end sli any day. single cards are also easier to power + have less issues as compared with sli and crossfire.

edit: lol 3 replies by the time i pressed submit...sheesh. oh and i stand corrected about the 7950 GT :)

Go with ONE GPU. Overclocking works better without SLI.

sending back the 7600gs (sucker worked great compared to my very old ti4800se ,lol ) . ordered the evga 7950 ko 512 . best i can do right now . but i know i will not be wondering bout sli and what if's ??? thanks all . i'll have the clock & mem speed now i really wanted with what i have 2 spent.

no worries. the 7950 will last you a good year or two without trouble.
