I am planing to buy xps8000, it comes with Vista Home Premium SP1 64bit.
Do I need to upgrade to Vista Ultimate to maximize the processors and video card? or Home Premium will also do?

Home premium will do unless you are looking to use RDP and use the Ultimate Addons. I would wait until it comes with Windows 7 you will get a better deal in my opinion

I will proceed with home premium first.
Dell gives $15 upgrade to win7.
