Hi, Im planning to build a computer for 2 grand or less. I plan to use the computer for audio and video editing, as well as playing games and music. I probably wont overclock and was just wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what parts i should get to the most bang for my buck. Thanks. Love you guys!
2 grand will get you a great system, but you're about to get a torrent of varying suggestions. refer back to tom's articles on low, mid, and high-end computer builds for some foundation.
Looking at the current status of technology meshed with economics, a highly competent rig can be had for less than 1500$, with monitor/speakers, 1700$ or less....No need to spend around 2k$XD
something along the line of:
CPU Intel Q6600/E6600 (depends on if you photoshop or game more)
GPU Nvidia 8800 GTS 320MB
RAM 2 GB DDR2 800 (preferably Corsair/Kingston/Crucial)
Mobo Depends on your CPU (preferably Asus/Gigabyte)
PSU 600W Name Brands (Antec, OCZ, Corsair)
