I currently have Netgear WPN824V2 as a wireless router. However, lately there has been intermittent disconnection and it irritates me. So I was thinking of switching it to Linksys WRT54GS. Is this good idea?

If it is what are some steps to setup new router from existing router?

I have one PC and one laptop (wireless).

If you're getting a new router, best to set up the network from scratch. Just follow the instruction that comes on the CD. I switched from Netgear to ZyXEL x-550 and it's been terrific. Easy to set up and no problems. Worth a look

I think with spending that much, I'd go ahead and shell out the money for a Linksys router that supports the upcoming N wireless(though not a standard yet), but it should be backward compatible with all your stuff, and give you a little better throughput whenever you upgrade your other stuff.
