Hello tomshardware.com forums,

I plan on reinstalling everything on my computer. I've currently got a dual boot setup with WinXP running primary with VMWare Server (to run other isolated copies of XP) and Win7.

Rather than establishing another dual-boot setup, I thought about trying out a virtualization hypervisor. Unfortunately, I do not know too much on the subject, and am wondering about pros and especially cons that may affect my system.

Hyper-V (Microsoft) also seems to be free, but I read somewhere that it is 100% command-line and has problems with sound and USB. The command-line doesn't bother me, but I plan on using at least one of my machines for personal use. The other XP instances are likely to be used for work and research.

Am I right in assuming that I will get a similar experience from Xen as I do inside of the VMWare Server program?

Thanks in advance,
phrozenfearz
