I have an old DOS Cam software program which is dongle protested, the software was sold by a company no longer in existence so I've been running it successfully in DOS on an old computer running windows 95, that computer has now died. in attempting to move it to a modern computer running XP it simply won't work. is there a way of running such a program on XP which was designed for DOS 6.2

Have you tried using a Virtual Machine?

XP doesn't use a true DOS OS to run. Thats why it wont work.
I would try a pure dos virtual machine like MrLinux said.
