I recently hooked uo up a fresh out-of-the-box Windows XP Home PC with SP3.
First off I DO NOT LIKE the Taskbar option to 'group similar taskbar buttons'. I like every window to have its own button. So that particular taskbar option is always unchecked. I want to keep it that way.
That being said, on my old XP Pro (and my very old Win 98), I could open up window after window, with the window buttons on the Taskbar becoming increasingly small.
That was okay with me.
But on this new XP machine I seem to only be able to open up 8 windows before it goes to a second page with the 9th window.
I really HATE that.
There must be some sort of registry entry that tells windows how many taskbar buttons to allow before going to a second page.
This is essentially the same question Ken Washington asked this forum 4 years ago, and he never seemed to get a good answer. I'm hoping that in these 4 years somebody has figured out how to do it.
