Hello Folks,

I am new to this board. I have a 500GB Simpletech Simpleshare NAS drive that has all my media content. I am not using this as a traditional backup device. Instead it acts as a central media storage device. So far, Ive been to watch the video/pic content on this NAS using my modded xbox with xbmc.

Is there a way to add a FTP or UpNP server to this device? How do I go about doing that? I am new to this. So if anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it very much. I have checked our FREENAS.

Then again,I am not sure how to go about adding it to my Simpletech NAS device.

Thanks
Vinny

Check into a Program called "Bulletproof" - Others versions out there work as well but I'm drawing a blank on their names.

You would run that on your computer and on your NAS to complete the connections.

Hi

How do I run on my NAS device? There is no way for me to run anything on it. The device only allows me to look at the files and or download it if given rights, via webbrowser interface. Help !!

You probably can't then unless you can figure out a way to install a USB CD-ROM and install directly on to it. I'm not familiar with your NAS so I can't really tell you much.

I know some NAS come with OSs on them that you can work with.
