Has anyone done this?

I want a wireless access point with features similar to those in DD-WRT running on a linux PC server.

The system will be based on a PIII 933 with 384 MB Ram and 40GB HDD (or 8GB CF SDD).
I have the basic system and a dlink WGL-520 PCI wireless card.

I want to ditch as many "little boxes" and wall warts as possible so my server will provide samba server, IP printer port (jet direct style) print server, torrent box, router, firewall.

Please suggest software to run the AP portion in infrastructure mode, all it needs to handle is WAP security and network bridging from eth1.

Prolly using webmin for administration.

I think I will be using Ubuntu server 7.10 or so for the OS, unless I get a good reason not to.

Let me know what you think! Thanks,

Cyborg
