What can I possibly do to solve this problem? I have Windows XP and everywhere I look I can't find a solution, can someone help?

Either remove the CD from the drive... or use the original XP install CD and run Fixmbr from a recovery console.
Failing that, post a more detailed description of both the system and the problem.
