ok after putting in these new hardware..

4gb ddr3
ga-ma785gmt-ud2h mobo
amd phenom ii x3 720 2.8ghz
xfx ati 4850 1gb

im having this problem..when reinstalling vista because of new hardware the setup starts very slow and it progresses to "completing installation" and it halts there and wont go any further..at all.i tried a few times but it wont..even starting the installation is slow..i know several people having this problem? can anyone point me to a solution? thanks in advance

Try reformatting your hard drive with the partition editor on a Linux Live CD

ok the problem was AHCI..i had to change it to Native IDE.. thanks anyways
