Hi all,

I've got a built-in microphone on my computer. Six months ago (when I last used it lol) it worked fine to video chat. Now, it's been a while and I've updated to service pack 2, but I also updated my drivers.

Now, when I try to use Yahoo (or any program for that matter) my mic picks up a lot of static but no voice, even if I shout. Windows recognizes the mic on the Recording Devices tab. It's a Realtek Hi Def mic in a Toshiba Satellite, if that makes a difference.

Is there something that needs updating? Is the mic broken? What's up?

Thanks!

L

it seems like you have allot of interference
it may be a bad connection, or a messed up driver

Liaamikiir,

Microsoft does have an official Windows Vista Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/d5r9v3. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.

Thanks, JessicaD. I'll check them out.

Arges, the interference varies. It's just odd that I can't get any sound into the mic at all.
