I don't think your system has a lot of future up ahead since hardware are escalating in performance so quickly that your computer will be outdated it like 3 years.

thank you for your advise. I know long term in computer hardware is measured in days however am not a big user. current system is a hand-me-down from my son. old amd system 256 meg memory using beta version of xp pro without updates. was at college in 96' studied network admin. friend at school updated his memory from 4 meg to 8 meg. cost him 400 bucks. that's progress.

If you're going to do any gaming then I would get a better video card, otherwise it looks good. You don't need a 700W power supply if you want to save money get a good smaller power supply, unless you might get a state of the art video card soon.

buy low volt ram and oc it - get 1.8v good quality ram or 4-4-4-5 g skill or super tallent 4-4-3-10 ddr800 or lower volt ram

why do you need a 680i mobo???? a 650i will work fine - you only need a 680i with quad core due to voltage issues

assu p5n-e with nb cooler or plus version hybird

that psu suxs at that price level: 750w silverstone decathlon is $169 and strider $137 - way more effecinet - i used them all!

make sure you get the oc 640mb 8800 with the savings
