When I set the wireless rounter with password protected, my usb wireless adapter's signal is not stable, every couple minutes lost signal, I need to click "connect" again to re-connect. When I set without password protected, the signal is always good, never lost signal. What's wrong with my setting? The router & usb adapter are netgear MR814, MA101. Thanks.

I just checked around here to see what's close to this problem, somehow no question similar like this? I'll look at Netgear website q/a area. And hope someone here can help too.

i think your quickest solution is basically call up Netgear SUpport and tell them your exact problem

What encryption are you using? By passord, do you mean WPA password?

If so, download the latest WPA patch from microsoft, it greatly increased my WPA stability.

I had the same problem with my SMC barricade router. I could connect fine with no encryption, but when I enabled 128bit WEP it would drop the connection. My solution was merely to change the channel. Dunno why that helped, but it did......just a thought
