4600 worked then dead

my bros dell 4600 went bad first off because of a burnt video card prongs i believe he bought a new mobo tried installing a cpu broke a prong bought a new cpu, got it

did get it into windows xp logon screen
did not log in

back to bios

tried to repair it w/o recovery console
getting errors

and shut off

and thats it

please help

Did you do a clean install, i.e., full format, of Windows with the new mobo?
