What do you think of this sytem, i have to know if all of the parts can function together without problems:

-OCZ SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB)
-EVGA GeForce 7950GT 512MB KO superclocked or XFX 7950GT XXX 512MB( Haven't decided yet, please tell me which one is better)
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz
-EVGA nForce 680i SLI A1 NVIDIA Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
- Seagate / Barracuda 7200.10 / 250GB / 7200 / 16MB / ATA-100

If you have anything to say please say it
I'm planning on using it for gaming with windows XP my budget is like 900 to 960 dollars

do you overclock?

if you overclock then get a e6400 or e6300 (u can easily get them to 3ghz+) and buy a geforce 8800gts 320mb
and get sata for the hard drive not ata-100
are you running sli cards? or in the near future? if no get a cheaper mobo

if u don't overclock then don't buy such good ram, and get a dx10 card, at least 8600

thanks for the advice but i don't know a thing about overclocking maybe in the future i'll look into that. About the videocard, isn't the xfx 7950gt xxx 512MB better than a 8600gts

Yes it is, but better than both is the 8800 GTS. It is really the entry level for a good gaming rig, unless money is really tight. Build your rig around it, your video card is the limiting factor in games. Go with a cheaper CPU, say the E6320 and some cheaper RAM, G-Skill DDR2-800 for example, look at a cheaper MB, 680i is more than you will likely need.

so after all you people have told me the final thing looks like this:

-2GB g-skill ddr2-800
-Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz
-western digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb
-EVGA geforce 8800 gts superclocked

So, i still don't know which motherboard should i get, the people still tell me that i don't need the evga 680i A1 sli which is about 250$, that i need a cheaper one and that is great for my finance but please tell me which one i get?

That Gigabyte board aevm mentioned will be perfect and it a guranteed performer. Alternatively you could go for the Gigabyte P35 DS3R for future compatibility with Intel's next wave of processors and DDR3 memory. The second option is new tech so it's less proven and *might* be more prone to initial BIOS problems etc. Either one should be great.
