hello everyone!

I am in need of grave help here..... my computer shuts down when i press any key on keyboard i guess i got a virus recently onboard! and i am not able to format also cause when i boot from cd and press enter when the step comes to instal xp it shut downs what should i do? any other way of formating completly? any suggestiong would be appreciated. thank you.

Sounds like a hardware problem, not a virus. When you see the message to 'press any key', the HD hasn't even loaded yet.

It's more likely a short in the connection. If you have a ps2 keyboard, try using a usb keyboard instead, or vice versa.
