Hello

I have got a Dell dimension 3100C with win xp home.

My problem is I don't have any sound.
I had no sound so I installed sp3 and when it rebooted it said some thing to do with high definition audio codes so I try to install them
and it says error 10 device cannot start. :fou:

Any help would be great thanks Frog.

Add a reply

start menu-->control panel-->system-->device manager
Look in the device manager to see if there are any conflicts (yellow !) on any of your devices.

The only thing that come up yellow is IDT high definition audio codec.

uninstall the codec and restart the pc. You can then search and re-download the codec.
