I'm doing a new build soon and I am considering handing down my previous PC to my nephew in another country. I'm not really sure if my OEM Vista license will be activated once he decides to reinstall the OS down the road.
Originally I did the first activation in North America, with the original Motherboard, CPU, GPU, HDD, and RAM (custom build).
I reinstalled the OS and reactivated it sometime after the GPU was replaced/upgraded.
I'm going to hand down the Motherboard, CPU, RAM, and current GPU to my nephew minus the HDD. The original GPU is already gone.
When he decides to reinstall the OS, he will certainly attempt to reactivate the license from Asia.
Do you think he won't have a problem with the OS reactivating? I read somewhere that the OEM license is married mainly to the Motherboard, however I also read that changing about three parts to the build will render the OS useless (including the originating IP address).
Isn't right, the licence isn't married with the mobo or another component of the PC. You can install in diferent PC BUT one at time, not more that one at the same time.

Actually that only applies to the retail version of Windows...
Thats is correct but in reality you can install it onto other computers BUT it can only be installed on one at a time, also having to call MS to reactivate your copy of vista
