Can Somone Help Me With A Strange Problem, Thanks!

If the weather has gotten warmer, this will increase the ambient temps in the room, thus increase the component temps in the case.



The heat generated by the bigger card is gonna make the temps in the case higher and the hsf will be blowing hotter air over the processor... ergo warmer mobo and cpu. You've also gone with a faster dual core cpu... this will also raise the temps.

Well, both of your new components will put out more heat than the old ones, so it's not really a surprise, but the temps are high.

Also you say it's hot in the room - so naturally the PC will be hotter as any heat it pumps out will be on top of the ambient temperature. In that case, probably the best advice is to get some dark curtains!

If you take the side off of the case I guess the temps go down?

OK BUT IS THIS OK TEMP WISE?
MY CARD MUST GOTO ABOUT 90 I SUPOSE WEN PLAYIN GAMES.
IVE HAD NO LOCKUPS AT ALL YET OR PROBLEMS PLAYING GRAW AND BIG GAMES.
IF I PUT MY HAND NEAR THE CASE ALL YOU CAN FEEL IS HOT AIR COMING OUT NOT COOL.
I CANT REALLY DO ANYTHING ELSE TO COOL IT.IVE ENUF RUNNING AS IT IS.
AS LONG AS THE PSU CANT CAUSE IT TO DO THIS COS ITS MAYBE 4 OR SO AMPS SHORT?

BASICALLY WEN I TURN THE MACHINE ON THE CARD READS 48 DEGREES.IF YOU WATCH THE NVIDIA MONITOR IT GOES SLOWLY UP TO 72 OR SO AND DOES IT IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
IVE ONLY HAD THE 2 IN THERE FOR 24 HOURS.THATS WEN I FITTED THEM.I HAVE HEARD OF 8800 S BEING 70 AT IDLE FROM OTHER GUYS BEFORE ON SITES.

I guess the temps are a bit hot for an Athlon maybe?? As for the card, there was a thread here recently where folks were talking about high 90s, even 100+!!



At least the case is getting rid of the warm air. I've never had cool air coming out of a case exhaust fan.

Completely normal. My 8800 idles upper 60's but I manually adust the fan to 80% and this drops the temps into the 50's at idle, also helps keep the case temp down. The highest fan I have seen on auto is about 68% while gaming and the card was blazing so the manual setting works just fine.

IVE USED RIVATUNER TO PUT THE FAN ON 100 PERCENT ON STARTUP AND THE GPU HAS COME DOWN TO 61 AND MOBO 35 AND CPU 40 AND THE TEMPS ARE STILL DROPPING!!!!IM WATCHIN IT NOW.WHOEVER SAID ABOUT SPEEDIN UP THE FAN CHEERS.SEEMS TO B WORKING.IS IT OK TO HAVE THE FAN ON 100 PERCENT ON RIVATUNER OR NOT?

They are like 3 bucks on Newegg.com and if your computer is in your room its going to raise the air temps therefore raising the temp of the air coming into the computer. I had a 10-20 degree temp increase on all my compontents, ive got a 5600+ and an 8800 gts, when i moved my computer from my living room to my room. My 8800 idled between 48-52 and was 60 at load in the living room and now idles at abou 42 with pci slot exaust.
