Why isn't anyone discussing this? Or is everyone tired of DAMMIT? I hear, (cough, cough) from the Inquirer, that this card will be availble within a week or so.
I would of expected a little more noise about this by now.
My lack of excitement comes from being far too busy lately and being somewhat dissappointed by the HD2900XT launch. It's good to know this card has been purchased and is shipping this week or next from at least one system vender. But until we see real/fair reviews benching real games, I wouldn't get your hopes up that this card can match a 8800GTX even. I hope it does, just not going to hold my breathe. Now let the guy claim it's a 65nm XTX in his hands, then I'd be getting excited.
Yeah, there's nothing like real benchmarks but seeing the card available in Canada for $649 makes me hopeful. If this card can match the Ultra at this price, there's going to be a lot of happy people out there.
I wasn't thrilled with the HD2900XT 512MB lauch and this has perked up my interest.
3DMark06 is more irrelevant than ever. It's using old technology. Who farking cares? The most advanced feature is PS3.0 which has been out for well over a year now.
No one will care about 3DMark benches until they release a DX10 version/patch/whatever.
I'll get interested when someone posts some real life game benches.
OT - How far are you from the Wright-Patterson airforce base? A buddy of mine is moving out there in a few weeks. Just curious as Lebanon rings a bell for some reason. I went to school in Indiana and knew loads of classmates from all over Ohio. BTW, I'm in NJ, so no fear I won't come knocking on your door.
