Recoving using recover CD Toshiba L305-S5881

I downloaded a virus that caused my laptop to do the looping restart, windows vista would shut down the restart once I entered my password it would do it all over again. I used the recovery cds that came with my laptop. Problem now is the programs don't seem to want to run correctly. I am unable to download what I believe are called add ons, drivers (the down loaded program needed to watch video online tv) Can someone help? Do I need to uninstall every program manually and then reinstall?
