VR-Zone is just like the inquirer in the way that they'll post any rumor they get. They were one of the many sites that reposted those fake Crysis benchmarks months ago.
Place your bets! The 8800 Ultra has already dropped to $650 though it may be a one-week deal. If the GTX sells for around $450 I would be heading to Fry's.
Currently I see the lowest on Newegg:
8800 Ultra: $670
8800 GTX: $530
8800 GTS 640: $330
8800 GTS 320: $260
It wouldn't surprise me. I think the Ultra is the card that most people don't want.
The performance increase isn't great over the 8800 GTX, its well know that you can OC a GTX to give almost the same performance and its also the case that a lot of people who are aiming high end are waiting for the new fab.
I cant believe that you can pick up an 8800gts 640 for $330 american. Im in australia and generally the prices relate but not with the 8800 series. I have to pay for the cheapest possible 640 versiron I was able to find at one store is 517 australian (425US) and an average of 40US more at all the other stores.

Disgusting
Yeah, man. I feel for ya. Everything is mad expensive over there. Bummer.
Why not just wait for the G92 then you'll get a smaller fab, DX10.1 (probably) and a much faster chip overall for around the same money as the Ultra is now.
If you want an Ultra you'd be better off buying a GTX and overclocking it, - cost to you of Ultra spec, $0.
