looks great!

What GTS is it? 320mb/640mb?

I think that PSU is kinda overkill unless you plan SLI in the future.

My GTS runs off 550W with 28A 12V rail(26Aneeded).

GL!

hmm striker extreme is overrated

6700 is neither here nor there would have gone 6600 and bumped it up to 3.6

i wouldnt have bothered raid0 2 raptors

but otherwise its a very solid build just think you could have gotten a bit more from your budget

The good news is they're all great parts. The bad news is you paid for hype in most places. Man, you really should have asked BEFORE buying. :(

2 DVD burners - get just one, save $100. Do you ever use them both?
Plextor - get LG instead, save $60. What does the Plextor do that LG won't?
Striker - get P5N32-E SLI instead, save $100, all you lose is the key ring
750 GB - get 2 x 500 GB instead, save $50, have more space, safer storage
Vista Ultimate - get XP Pro instead, save $50, have better fps in games

The savings are approximate numbers, don't take them literally. They are about the same as the price difference between 8800 GTS and GTX...

On the bright side - next year you'll be able to get a new video card and leave the rest alone. It is a very nice rig...

Nice rig but you shouldn't post after you buy because people will find faults and this is going to annoy the hell out of you. IMO you should have not bothered with the dual raptors, instead upped the CPU to a Quad core and upped to a 8800 GTX. :D

Well I had Drives/Burners and video card from my last system, all I bought was motherboard/Ram/CPU. I was going to get a QX6700 but I decided to wait till August when $$ come down and I will eBay the E6700. I got the Striker board for pretty cheap from a buddy, that why I bought it.!

Good plan, it is a fat rig mate though no question.

vista ultimate, how fancy, you'll be able to make the most DX10 as soon as it come out woth no faf so i would stick with it, i would also make sure it a x64 addition so you can get 4Gb when thats around.

but if its an ultimate rig here is what i would do, get a P35 and some DDR3 then you'll haev real gloating power, and compleatly futer proofed (for now). Esp if its a fat ass rig

Hi

Striker Extreme is overrated (as stated in first post)

You mighy aswell go to an e6600

Spend the money you would save on a GTX if your screen res is >1600x1200 or similar

Get a big cooling fan - it will reap big rewards in the future.

DDR3 SUCKS AT THE MOMENT 1066 @ 6-6-6-18 what is that about?

RAID0 can sometimes slightly degrade performance in a desktop PC, but thats only with 7200rpm drives, not sure about 10k ones.

A 1TB HD isn't much more and you get 32mb cache and industry leading performance for its RPM.

its a great set up and I am sure it will perform great for ya too.
I was going to go that route and at last minute changed the mobo and chip.
I went with the x6800 and a p5k board.

The only thing I would do different being a gamer, is gotten the gtx over the gts, but whatever, still a nice set up you have.

Hey

Oh yeah thanks dobby.

Isn't it true though (just out of interest) that its better to have lower latency memory than faster memory with AMDs because of the built in memory controller?
