"I am having difficulty sending pictures via E mail. After I highlight a
picture, I get, under File & Folder Tasks, an option to reduce the
picture size for ease of sending. After clicking OK I do not get a
screen allowing me to address the E-mail with the attachment. Any
suggestion on how to get the sending screen would be appreciated." I am having this very problem (took this from the archived... reply was not helpful). I am using Mozilla Thunderbird and this File and Folder option used to work a week ago and now all of a sudden I am having this very problem. Someone tell me how to fix it pleeeease.

probably the easiest way is to restore the system to an earlier point that you have when this problem was not present Start, ALl Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore

rather than right clicking the image, open your email first, create a new one, and then attach the image to it.

I had thought about that, but wouldn't that also undo all my updates on my computer e.i., virusware updates etc. ?

Well, thanks anyway, but this is not helpful since it's the automatic image reduction that I need.

Picture must be properly formatted as a .jpeg or .gif.

They are properly formatted. Something else is wrong.... It's not the format.

All the pics on my computer... I've tried all kinds... anywhere from 14 KB to 6MB. It doesn't seem to matter the size.

Perhaps try reinstalling the browser.

Why would the browser have anything to do with it? Wouldn't it be a platform problem??

You are trying to load the pictures into Mozilla Browser? Then email the pictures attached to an email? Try reinstalling whatever program is failing.

When I send a picture, I open my email 'compose' and select 'add picture'. Then select the picture file from a dropdown and click 'add picture.' I don't know what you are trying to do. Open your email account and add the picture to your email from the email software interface.

My operating platform is windows xp. Sure I can do exactly what you say with no problem, but going that route I don't have the option to reduce the size of the image. I end up sending this +MB file. I prefer to do what I originally wrote about.

hmmmm.... I went there and oddly I don't have this option (nor do I have photoshop).

Thanks, though, I appreciate your time on this matter. Do you have any other ideas? Honestly, I think it's a Windows conspiracy..... One of their updates has a while back broke my firewall and I had o go with their firewall :-(

My husband just fixed it. He reset the default email as Outlook and then opened Thunderbird which triggered the prompt that asked if he wanted Thunderbird as the default, then Windows setup Thunderbird as the default using the right folder and version. It tool all of five minutes. I have bellyached over this for at least a month and a half ....

Thank you though... Much thanks.
