I'm using Windows XP with IE 8, and after downloading a program, the maximized IE screen is shifted downwards, leaving about 1/2" gap between the top of the window and the top of the screen. I uninstalled the program (Color Cop), but I'm still having the same problem (maximized IE window is shifted down, leaving a gap along the top edge). Does anyone know how to fix this, so the maximized window fits the screen properly.

sorry dude but IE 8 has a lot of problems, best advce is uninstall it and see if IE7 has the same isues, or you can restore the computer to a time before when all was well, try the simple things first, to do a restore to an earlier time, Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore, and pick a time before this started
