I am using Vista Home Premium. Whenever I download a media file, Windows Media Player is the default software and plays the downloaded files in the same full-screen format, regardless of the fidelity of the underlying files. Videos are often distorted and blurry. How can I change the settings which cause this to happen?

If WMP is not performng like you would like, you might consider downloading and installing AVS player. It is a very good player and free.
