Im a noob to the OC'ing world I just built a new 775 system. I would like to get this CPU running at 3Ghz. What are some good #'s and voltages to start with? Also what are some good tweaks I can do to this motherboard to gain some performance? (Asus Striker Extreme) Thanks again guys...

nice rig, i'd take out the raptors, get a cheaper mobo, buy a 8800 gtx, get a better heatsink and save $200 but whatever...

start with stock voltage, up the fsb until unstable. Then up the voltage 1 notch and test for stability, if not stable up another notch etc. and repeat upping fsb then vcore.

you should be able to hit 3ghz no problem under 1.4v

After seeing the forum and what the community in TG Forumz get from overclock it seems that your system will easily exceed 3Ghz. It's near 3Ghz in stock speed anyway, isn't it?

You can expect a flood of benchmarks for Intel's quad-core 'Kentsfield' processor to hit the Internet in the next day. Intel's latest chip is officially called the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 and is an enthusiast chip aimed at high-end gamers, graphical artists and others who run multi-threaded applications.
