Trying to open contents in floppy disk?

My computer tells me disk in drive a is not formatted? and if i format now all contents on disk will be deleted.

If you have access to another computer, try your disk in that, if you still get the same error message your disk is corrupted.
Floppy disks are not very reliable, some will work for years, some will fail after first use. you can copy a file to it and seems well, you try to use it at some time in the future, a day a month and find it fails.
