I risked going without an anti virus for a while and managed to catch one. No big deal, I usually just go into Safe Mode, do a thorough cleaning and I'm good, but this time I can't. (I also don't have a restore point.)

:bounce:

"F8" while booting does nothing for me. I even enabled USB support in my BIOS. Since I can't get into the Boot Menu,

I did "msconfig" and tried to enable Safeboot from there. When I check "Safeboot", System configuration crashes with an error. Selecting Diagnostic Startup does nothing at all. I can't even check the box.

ALSO, whenever I boot up now, I get an "INVALID BOOT.INI - Booting from C:windows" every time.

Anyone have any idea what happened here, and how I can fix this, get into safe mode and clean this system out?

Register or log in to remove.

You can clean the system by getting UBCD and running their EZFix application to do all the dirty work of cleaning sytem and there is a Antivirus cleaner and malware remover also all running off boot cd.
