Having fried the PSU, Mobo and (probably) CPU in my eight year old computer, I'm rebuilding it.

I use it to surf the net, write, and burn CDs, nothing radical, no real gaming, so am going with a basic Gigabyte mobo, Pentium dual core Allendale and 4 GB RAM.

I have used Vista at work and don't really care for it.

Is there any reason to go with XP Pro, rather than XP Home (or the opposite)? The difference is only a few bucks, I don't care about that, just want to buy the most stable OS for this little machine. Where is the best place you've found to buy software online (except not Newegg, they won't ship to Guam)?

Thanks,

Kelly on Guam
