Hi, I purchased a DELL Studio 1557 LAPTOP with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit pre-installed.DDR3 4GB Ram. And 500GB Sata hdd. The basic partition given is "C" i.e. Windows drive. I want to partition it to 50,50,300 gbs respectively. but I was only able to shrink 239.58 GB as un allocated space. and rest 211 gb on the c drive is not being able to shrink and its showing a message " Size of available shrink space is restricted is snapshots or pagefiels are enabled on this volume."
I removed the pagefile on C and tried, but no use. Is there any solution to partition the rest of the space on C. I also tried paragon partition manager, that still caused more problems.

Regards,
A.R.

try to turn down the amount of space that system restore can use.
I think It may be trying to preserve that space.
You may also possibly have to trun it off in order to do this and then turn it back on.

yes. I turned off the system restore and also disabled the volume shadowing service.but still couldn't find the apt solution.
