missing the standard tcp/ip option for printers.

Sounds like a bad printer instalation, delete printer from the Control panel, uninstall the driver and disconnect the printer.
Start from the beggining following the makers directions for installing the printer.
This often requires you to turn off antivirus software and all running programs when running the setup, don't connect the printer until instructed by the instal program.
